The combination of rich brown and gleaming black is somewhat unexpected, but absolutely amazing. The finishes couldn't be more different: exquisitely grained walnut veneer and highly polished glossy black, but somehow it just works. Effortlessly so. Using the same long bar handles on each of the two different fronts pulls the look together and ties in with the stainless steel appliances, making an ultra glam statement.

The dramatic contrast between minimalist black and lavish walnut has to be allowed to dominate this room. So keep clutter to a minimum and go for simple forms and shapes on your worktop.
